Celebrating Manufacturing Excellence at the 6th Edition of Anvesh 2025

The 6th Edition of Anvesh, India’s Premier Manufacturing Quiz, brought together young professionals and students committed to strengthening India’s manufacturing capabilities. Organised by CII Centre of Manufacturing Excellence, the event was held on 18 December 2025 at the Godrej Auditorium, Mumbai, reinforcing the importance of knowledge driven competitiveness in the manufacturing ecosystem.

Strengthening India’s Manufacturing Knowledge Base

As Indian industry advances toward technology enabled and innovation led production systems, the need for platforms that enhance sectoral awareness and technical depth continues to increase. Anvesh 2025 supported this objective by covering themes such as manufacturing processes, quality systems, industry practices and regulatory frameworks. Participants explored the evolution of production techniques, design philosophies, continuous improvement methodologies and policy influences shaping industrial progress.

Leadership and Expertise at the Helm

The quiz was led by Mr B. Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Blue Star Limited, whose experience guided the overall direction of the event. Renowned quiz master Giri “Pickbrain” Balasubramaniam conducted the sessions, drawing on his extensive knowledge engagement background and experience hosting quizzes across multiple domains.

A Platform for Emerging Industry Talent

The objective of this Business Quiz is to promote youth in manufacturing and to create awareness on innovation, manufacturing trends, and developments across the world to nurture a ‘manufacturing friendly’ mindset across India, Additionally, recognize and reward young professionals & students with exceptional knowledge and insights into manufacturing.

Designed for young manufacturing professionals, final year engineering students, management students and startup teams, Anvesh 2025 encouraged participation from individuals preparing to contribute to India’s industrial growth. With eligibility limited to those aged below 35 years, the quiz ensured strong early career representation. Clear team composition norms supported fairness and balanced participation across academic and industry categories.

Inspiring Perspectives Through Youth-Centric Dialogue

A highlight of the event was an address by Mr Sanjeev Raina, Executive Director I/C (Corporate HSSE), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, who urged the gathering to recognise the potential within India’s youth to “challenge conventions,” “break barriers” and “take risks.” He emphasised that India’s demographic composition offers a “unique window of opportunity,” describing young professionals as “digital natives growing up in an era of unprecedented connectivity and information access.” Stressing the importance of vision, he noted that “every monumental achievement and every transformative innovation begins with a dream,” calling upon the audience to practise self‑leadership and “lead from where you are today.” Highlighting aspiration, he reminded participants that “dreams ignite the journey of change,” underscoring the role of creativity, talent and determination in shaping India’s industrial growth.

A Structured, Knowledge-Intensive Quiz Experience

Anvesh 2025 followed a three‑stage format assessing conceptual and strategic skills. The preliminary round evaluated core manufacturing knowledge, followed by two semi‑final buzzer rounds testing responsiveness across industrial themes. Six teams progressed to the grand finale, competing in high‑intensity buzzer rounds with calibrated negative marking to reinforce precision.

Winners were announced as follows: S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) secured the top position and was awarded with prize money of INR 1,00,000 through the performance of Mr Dev Khemani and Mr Sanidhy Raghuwanshi. The first runner‑up, awarded prize money of INR 50,000, was Blue Star Limited, Dadra Plant, represented by Ms Priyanka Kolambe and Mr Jayant Saha. The second runner‑up, awarded with prize money of INR 25,000, was JSW Steel Limited, Salem Plant, represented by Mr Periyasamy M and Mr Deeraj Kumar S.

Building a Culture of Continuous Learning

Anvesh 2025 reinforced the importance of learning agility, industry awareness and continuous improvement. By promoting innovation, knowledge enhancement and quality‑oriented practices, the initiative supported CII’s mission to develop a skilled, future‑ready workforce.
